That I May Know Him

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. ~ 1 John 5:20 (KJV)

Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Jeremiah 23:29

Carey's Arrival (yay!)

Rev., Consecrated and I have had the honour of striking a good friendship with Carey, and tomorrow night we will have the privilege of meeting her in person, outside the blogworld!

Carey will be arriving in Montreal at 5:36 p.m. (our time) and she will be staying with us for a week. I have been looking forward to this for a few months now, and I’m really thankful the time is finally here. Carey and I are both adventurous, and this should make for quite a week. Please pray for no accidents, no really, we are both accident-prone people!!!!

This will be really great, as Carey is also a child of the King and a young lady that greatly fears the Lord, dare I say, a rare breed. I believe we will both be a good encouragement for one another and I thank the Lord that He has seen me worthy to befriend such a person.

I just hope Carey will have a great time and feel right at home, after all, she is our sister in Jesus Christ!

Teach me, Lord

Knowing God’s will for my life has always consumed my thoughts, and I know that is the case for many believers. Even in knowing His will for me, I would struggle with whether or not I have the discipline to walk in His path, wherever that may lead me.

However, that discipline is something that is usually taught and we believers follow the greatest Master, the Lord Jesus. We can go to Him and ask to be taught to do His Will.

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Psalm 25:4

Teach me thy way, O LORD. Psalm 27:11

Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Psalm 143:10

The Lord hearkens to such a prayer.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8

God’s Word proclaims it. He will teach us, yes, but He will also guide us in the way wherein we should walk. I don’t need to worry and be consumed by these thoughts. I trust in the Lord and I believe His Word.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5:6

I have a new target

Our firm hired a new legal secretary who is now working for one of the partners. Her name is Jenny and she's very sweet and a lot of fun to work with. Though I have not witnessed to her yet, she is definitely on my hit list! She is Greek, hence of Greek Orthodox faith. I have asked the Lord to give me an open door that I may give her the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I have not given up on the other ladies though; they too need to get saved. There are, however, a few people at work that I have never spoken to concerning Jesus Christ, and that is mostly because I am not bold enough to go up to some of the Jewish lawyers and tell them about Jesus.

I wish I were bold as a lion when it came to witnessing.

Proverbs 28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

Follow Jesus

Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

This is the verse that brought me on my knees when I was 14 and which marked the debut of my walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Even today, it rings powerfully in my ear.

Each day I thank Him that He saved my soul from hell and I now have an eternal life to look forward to. I am glad that I put the world behind me, and the cross before.

I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back
Tho no one join me, still I will follow, no turning back, no turning back
The world behind me, the cross before me, no turning back, no turning back.

Matthew 16:24-26 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Tract passing in the rain

We headed downtown for tract passing today. Even though it was somewhat rainy, it was nothing unbearable and the Lord gave us an hour and a half of good ol' tract passing on the streets of downtown Montreal. It was great!!

I praise God that we have wonderful opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to many lost souls through passing out tracts. Countless people got to know and hear the reality of hell and the gracious God who died and paid the debt to set them free from such dreadful judgment. May the Lord bring many of them to salvation through Christ Jesus.

Open Thou My Lips

For all the profanity that proceeds out of my mouth which spues out of my foolish and vain thoughts, I wish I could accomplish an ENTIRE day of opening my mouth only, and only for my Lord Jesus Christ.

~I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. Psalm 17:3

I pray that I could accomplish the words of that saying; to purpose in my heart that my mouth shall not trangress against Thee, O Lord.

~Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:4

I pray that the words of my mouth were constantly acceptable unto Thee, my King.

~I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1

I pray that Thy praise stays continually in my mouth.

~My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. Psalm 49:3

I pray that my mouth were always filled with Thy great Wisdom, Master.

~My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. Psalm 71:15

I pray that my mouth were a living testimony that I may show forth Thy righteousness and declare Thy salvation unto all the people.

~ O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. Psalm 51:15

O Lord, open thou my lips that I may show forth Thy praise all the day!

For His Own Sake

Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

This is a verse that I often bring before the Lord when I have transgressed against Him. We are a living testimony for our Saviour God and when we act foolish in our own ways, we can prove to be a stumbling block in the eyes of the lost. I have been guitlty of such far too often.

For His sake, for His name's sake, the Lord is merciful to forgive us our sins and He is gracious not to remember them. We tend to remember our failures and our time of shame, and they too can be a stumbling block to us with our daily walk with the Lord. We need not to look back but to look ahead and claim God's faithful promises that He is forgiving and that He will not even remember our sins.

This brings a lot of comfort to me when I get on my knees before my King.

Moses in the promised land

In Numbers 20, the Lord tells Moses and Aaron to speak unto the rock and it will bring forth water. Instead, Moses smites the rock twice. Personnaly, I had always felt that the Lord's punishment for Moses was somewhat harsh.

~Numbers 20:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

Considering the responsibility and the heavy burden Moses had been carrying for a number of years now, I had always felt that this was somewhat of a severe punishment from the hands of God, though I now understand that God is a just Judge. Moses will later get to see the promised land (Deut. 34) from the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, just before his death. It is Joshua who leads the people into the promised land, as vowed by the Lord.

The story, however, does not end there.

~Mark 9:2-4 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

And there comes God's grace. This time, Moses is not overlooking the promised land with Lord, his feet, along with the feet of the Lord, are now touching the land flowing with milk and honey. Amazing Grace! Moses gets to stand in the promised land after all!!

Faith is the victory

~I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. Psalm:2

I often find myself humming a hymn at work, mostly in the mornings. When asked “what are you singing”, I simply respond “oh, you wouldn’t know”, but I think some know by now that I hum hymns.

The hymn for today was Faith is the Victory.

Encamped along the hills of light,Ye Christian soldiers, rise. And press the battle ere the nightShall veil the glowing skies.Against the foe in vales belowLet all our strength be hurled.Faith is the victory, we know,That overcomes the world.

Refrain

Faith is the victory! Faith is the victory!O glorious victory, that overcomes the world.

His banner over us is love,Our sword the Word of God.We tread the road the saints aboveWith shouts of triumph trod.By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath,Swept on o’er every field. The faith by which they conquered deathIs still our shining shield.

Refrain

On every hand the foe we findDrawn up in dread array.Let tents of ease be left behind,And onward to the fray.Salvation’s helmet on each head,With truth all girt about,The earth shall tremble ’neath our tread,And echo with our shout.

Refrain

To him that overcomes the foe,White raiment shall be giv’n.Before the angels he shall knowHis name confessed in Heav’n.Then onward from the hill of light,Our hearts with love aflame,We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night,In Jesus’ conqu’ring Name.

Refrain

I really love the lyrics, and it’s just a beautiful hymn to be sung, with such powerful truth.

~For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4

Please pray with me

The Lord brought my brother and I safely back from Lebanon just in time, since you are aware by now about the Mideast-Crisis. I am thankful for His goodness and His good timing. I was able to mend things with my father before the "war" broke out.

However, please pray that the Lord will keep my family safe, as this is rather worrying. I keep on thinking about my family, the ones that have been witnessed to, mostly by my brother, and how through this present trial, they will cling on to their catholic faith and their idols and icons more than ever. Please pray that the Lord will make them repent and that they will cling on the Word of God instead, come to the saving knowledge that is in Christ only and claim His precious promises. Also, please be in prayer for the Bible Believing Churches and the Christians at this present time in Lebanon, as well as in Israel.

As difficult and worrying as this is, I thank the Lord, for we know that these things are bound to happen in preparation for our Saviour King's return. Our hope is in Christ.

~For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore COMFORT one another with these words. 1 Thess. 4:16-18

Amen, let us then comfort one another that Jesus Christ is on His way, and soon we shall meet and be with the King forever!

Prayer of Faith

~ And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22

The Lord has reminded me this very evening of a powerful truth that is key to my relationship with Him. That truth is belief that whatever I ask in His name, I shall receive.

James 5:15 says:

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Jam 5:15

I am also reminded of this passage:

And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. Matthew 9:27-29

I know there are many key elements to prayer, such as asking in His name (John 14:13) and walking righteously in His steps (Proverbs 15:29), but I thank Him that tonight, He has reminded me that I also need to believe that nothing is impossible for Him.

~If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7

Victory in Jesus

1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

I want to shout and praise the Lord, because over the past few weeks, he has given me the victory over many battles in my life. What a feeling to surrender to the will of the Lord! What an honour to be able to shout "I am on the Lord's side"! What a privilege to being called a soldier of the cross!

1 Corithians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are victorious through Jesus Christ indeed. He gives us the victory not only over temptations, but also over hardhsips in life. Just think of the powerful words below:

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.

Amen! What a sweet day and a sweet victory that will be.

O Victory in Jesus, my Saviour forever!!

I am touched

It felt really nice to be among my church family once again at the prayer meeting yesterday evening. I missed everybody, especially the little children and the little ladies!

One of the little ladies, Anika, is 16 years old and has a heart of gold. Her family has been experiencing serious monitary problems for almost two years now. The father is on disability, the mother has certain health issues, and they have four children still living at home. When the problems started last summer, they still managed to get me a birthday gift. I was moved. And they didn't fail to do so this year again, as I walked in the church yesterday, Anika quickly handed me a gift with a card she had personally made. Once again, I was moved, and speechless. This is the family who at times feared not being able to make it to church because they were not able to afford the gaz for their van....

Did I mention that it's a very nice gift too, sort of a gift basket, with a very nice blue bracelet, chocolate and two christian books. One of the books tells about four dramatic stories of great hymn writers, it is called Well with my Soul.

This kind of selfless gesture really touches and moves you. I am so thankful for the only King James Bible believing church in Montreal and am glad to fellowship with my church family once again!

Back in Montreal

Hurrah, Rev. and I made it back safely home yesterday. My trip to Lebanon went better than what I had anticipitated, though there were a few intense and challenging moments, but it is all to the glory of the Lord, the good and the bad.

Heeding to God's will was the best part of my trip, because He has started a good work within me and I know He will be faithful to finish it.

Phi 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

I thank the Lord because during the entire trip He upheld my brother and I with His mighty right hand.

Psa 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

It's good to be home, especially since I have missed my mom very much. I'm still a bit tired since we arrived Monday afternoon, and I had to go down to work today, the very next day. All is well and I thank you for your prayers!
