For His Own Sake
This is a verse that I often bring before the Lord when I have transgressed against Him. We are a living testimony for our Saviour God and when we act foolish in our own ways, we can prove to be a stumbling block in the eyes of the lost. I have been guitlty of such far too often.
For His sake, for His name's sake, the Lord is merciful to forgive us our sins and He is gracious not to remember them. We tend to remember our failures and our time of shame, and they too can be a stumbling block to us with our daily walk with the Lord. We need not to look back but to look ahead and claim God's faithful promises that He is forgiving and that He will not even remember our sins.
This brings a lot of comfort to me when I get on my knees before my King.

That is encouraging! Especially for people like me who have a guilt-complex and apologize way too much for everything. I have to remember that God has already forgiven me!

He certainly has, Carey.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:1
