Victory in Jesus
1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
I want to shout and praise the Lord, because over the past few weeks, he has given me the victory over many battles in my life. What a feeling to surrender to the will of the Lord! What an honour to be able to shout "I am on the Lord's side"! What a privilege to being called a soldier of the cross!
1 Corithians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are victorious through Jesus Christ indeed. He gives us the victory not only over temptations, but also over hardhsips in life. Just think of the powerful words below:
Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.
Amen! What a sweet day and a sweet victory that will be.
O Victory in Jesus, my Saviour forever!!

I cannot hear the phrase "Victory in Jesus" without thinking of the hymn by that name. It's under copyright, so cyberhymnal.org doesn't have it, but it's posted here. For those who may not know it, there is a bit of an intro and the verse starts with the nice MIDI organ.
I heard an old, old story,
How a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save a wretch like me.
I heard about His groaning,
Of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins
And won the victory.
Chorus
O victory in Jesus,
My Savior forever!
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood.
He loved me ere I knew Him,
And all my love is due Him.
He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood.
I heard about His healing,
Of His cleansing pow'r revealing,
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see.
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus,
Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and brought
To me the victory.
Chorus
I heard about a mansion
He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold
Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing,
And the old redemption story;
And some sweet day I'll sing up there
The song of victory.
Chorus

Thanks Angie! This post was "inspired" by that hymn, since I've had it in my head all week. Love it!!

Tonight at church we had a "favorites" time where people got to pick some of their favorite hymns to sing, and this was one of them. We only sang the first verse, which was rather disappointing, but it was still a good time. :)

Oh, I love it when we get to pick the hymns :)
Sorry I haven't posted lately, my family from California is touring the East Coast and they are in Montreal for only 3 days. It's fun having them around though :)

You won't hear me arguing with that! I had friends who were from other places who think that green=beautiful and any landscape that is not green is therefore not beautiful. I think they have an extremely limited appreciation for God's creative genius!

But the water is FEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZING. I went in the water with my nephew and niece at around 2pm, they were screaming for mercy as their hands and feet froze. I kept prodding them on as they surfed with the waves. About ten minutes in the water they got over the fear of freezing to death but because they did not want their mother to take them back home they edured the chilling water.
I had the time of my life.
