That I May Know Him

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. ~ 1 John 5:20 (KJV)

Spring Revival

Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Psalm 85:6

This past weekend was just…great! Our church had its spring revival with Pastor Rick Sowell, of Hope Baptist Church, Toledo, Ohio. The preaching was solid, the music was great, and the fellowship was even greater.

These events make for wonderful opportunities to invite unsaved loved ones, which we did. Many visitors came over the Friday through Sunday services and heard the blessed gospel of our Lord. We know of one teenage girl who got saved. Tears ran down her face as she accepted Christ as her Saviour, especially when told that her friend had been praying for her salvation.

This revival was also good for us as Christians and for the Church. I know we all benefited tremendously from the preaching of God’s word.

I was saddened when the revival came to its end on Sunday evening. Even now, I kinda wish I could go back in time. But we can only look forward, which is a good thing, since this coming June our church is “evacuating” Montreal as it will be our turn to attend Hope Baptist Church’s revival (Heartland Bible Conference – June 17-22).

Our church services for the revival were Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday morning and evening. Pastor Sowell’s revival, however, is an entire week long! Each day of the week, there’s a service in the morning with THREE preachers, and TWO preachers in the evening, and a whole lot of Christian fellowship in between.

I CAN HARDLY WAIT!!!! (only 7 weeks to kill….)

We've been all praying for our little cousin and today, the Lord led me to Mark 1:29-31

"And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, and James and John. But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and straightway they told him of her. And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them."

Our's also lies sick of fever and we know that the Lord is still able to do what He did with Peter's mother-in-law.

Joe, Amen, thanks so much for reminding me of that passage. How very timely. Jesus made the fever from Peter's mom in law depart, and He'll do the same for our little Peter. Let's keep him in fervent prayer.

By the way, Joe, and Danielle, I am praying that you really do come back to Mtl this summer. I'll take a week off and we'll giggle our heads off. :)

Bryan, so nice to hear from you. I am glad you likewise had a great revival. Guess saints across North America got revived this past weekend!

Sarah, Revival is a great time to take a personal evaluation. It is a wonderful time to be uplifted, strengthen and even, changed in our walk with the Lord. We had one back in March and it was truly a help to me. I am glad yours was blessing to you.

Sarah, been far too long since I stopped by! Read a few posts down the wonderful news about Mitchelle. Isn't it a blessing to be used by God? My friend from work is now walking with the LORD after years away, and I got to be the one who pointed him back to Jesus. So exciting to see how God is still at work in the world!

The Franklin Graham Crusade is coming to this area soon, so that's our big event down here. Hopefully it will be effective in spreading the Gospel to the lost!

Corry, that would be GREAT! But for now I guess we'll just keep posting about our Saviour and encouraging one another through the blogworld :)

Annggiiiiieeeeeeeee, you are always so welcome over here. I have missed you! Mitchelle is doing great and is growing in the Lord. That is so comforting to know that your friend is back with the Lord. The Lord had a purpose in placing you at that job...and by the way, I read your blog...CONGRATS! I knew you'd get! ;) :)
